Former Manassas City Council & Vice-Mayor Comments on Blade Runners Leaf Management


We have lived in Point of Woods townhouses in Manassas for over 50 years and I was the first Chairman of the resident’s Point of Woods Association. I also served for 16 years on the Manassas City Council as member and Vice-Mayor. I wanted to let you know what a fantastic job your staff did today in clearing the unbelievable amount of leaves. The staff was great and did such a personal effort to assure that any leaves or trash was also blown. Many thanks and Happy Thanksgiving.

13 Year Client Renews Contract and Offers Feedback Why and Blade Runners Service!

It is my pleasure to announce that the Courthouse Oaks HOA Board of Directors has selected  Blade Runners to be our community’s landscaping provider for a three-year term from 2024-2026. 
The reasons for your selection were based on excellent performance over the past 13 years, your competitive bid, and the outstanding customer service we have received from Mike Dollard. Mike has responded time-after-time to issues that pop-up at the last moment, like tree limbs falling on our Tot Lot to damage done to trees and shrubs following inclement weather. We are very thankful for Mike fulfilling the true meaning of customer service.

17 Year Client Agrees to Another 3 yrs and Understands it MUCH more then Costs

Dear Shannon, 
Thank you for your email and for providing us with the new contract agreement. We want to express our gratitude for the excellent service Blade Runners has provided to Beauregard Manor over the years. 
We have indeed been satisfied with your services, and it’s clear that your team has done an exceptional job managing our property. We appreciate the long-standing partnership we’ve had with Blade Runners. 
We understand the challenges posed by rising labor and material expenses, and we value your transparency in explaining the need for a cost adjustment. After careful consideration, the BMHOA Board has decided to go with the 3-year contract option. We believe the cost savings over this period aligns with our community’s interests. 
Please consider this email as confirmation of our intent to proceed with the 3-year agreement at the rate of __per year. We believe this will be a mutually beneficial arrangement and look forward to continuing our positive working relationship.

Hi Shannon,
Thank you for the information. I think the Board has begun to recognize the potential need to pay more for a stronger landscaping company to manage their grounds.
________ I think has been effective, but the Board has recalled the service from Blade Runners as being a higher tier. There is not currently a guarantee they will cancel with _______, but they are seriously considering a change. A lot of it will depend I think on them. ….
I know that provides a lot of uncertainty, but I wanted to just give you insight into where they are.

SHA Landscape Chair of Fairfax HOA, explains the switch back to local Blade Runners vs a National Company

Differences with ________ & Blade Runners…  
Their pricing for snow service is OUTRAGEOUS. We spent over $100K for the mild winter in 2022 and had to raise HOA dues.
Ther landscape team did not have the same attention to detail. Owner complaints more than doubled. Areas not mowed, shrubs not trimmed well. Wrong plants installed. Poor communication and slow to remedy their errors.
We terminated the contract and returned to Blade Runners.

Hi Amy,

I was out of town this last week and I just got back in town. So I was FINALLY able to see the backyard and the front yard and what the guys did – IT LOOKS FABULOUS!! Thank you so incredibly much. I can’t wait to see the Azaleas and the bush grow and flourish in the front and I didn’t realize the guys would place mulch in the back – it was a really nice surprise!
In short though, I can’t thank you and the whole crew at Blade Runners enough for the beautiful work they did. Please pass on my compliments and thanks to all the crew members who worked on my yard. I really appreciate all that they did and all that you did to help with this project!

Alexandria Condo Assoc. Comments on Work by Blade Runners

Good afternoon, Andy:

I hope you and yours are doing well. As you know, Blade Runner has been working on several landscaping projects recently throughout Oakland Hall. You’ve been helping us for a few years now, and your work has always been very professional, your staff courteous and attentive to detail.

This past week, however, the work of Mr. Julio Amaya and Mr. Melvin Ventura merits special recognition for going above and beyond expectations. The new plant beds have well-defined edges and symmetry. Certain bushes have been removed and certain trees planted with utmost care. And both gentlemen have been courteous to (I am sad to say) often impertinent and inconsiderate residents.

The stonework completed by Mr. Amaya and Mr. Ventura is remarkable. It is both practical and beautiful, geometry and art, and something only highly skilled craftsmen can accomplish. I hope you have a chance to see their work the next time you visit. I hope you will let them know how grateful we are for their work ethic and for their contribution to our community.

As for the work they completed on Ticer Drive, both gentlemen turned an eyesore into a welcoming garden, not an easy feat.
