Snow Plowing Equipment – what it can do.

Our standard commercial grounds maintenance agreement is a concise, highly detailed outline of exactly what is to be done and how. Landscape installation proposals are submitted in a timely fashion and include drawings and edited photos. Lawn care issues on the property are reported to you via email as our highly trained staff reports them in a positive proactive fashion.

Plow Truck

The plow truck is limited to pushing snow. The plow truck cannot pick up or place snow. It has a large blade on the front that you can angle, but the snow falls off the blade as you travel. It cannot operate effectively in tight areas and can easily slide and cause damage. For these reasons, we are very cautious where we use plow trucks.

Front End Loader

The loader can Pick up and Place snow, but it cannot push. It is extremely maneuverable and can get into tight areas. It can clear very close to objects and is much more stable than a plow truck.

Box/plow

This is used for more precise movement of snow. Clearing of entranceways, driveways, garage doors, behind cars, hydrants, drains, dumpster, and other tight areas. They are also used for moving large piles and clearing snow when snow Blades are no longer effective. See the video page for this piece of equipment in action.

Ice B’gone Magic Applications

This represents a significant challenge for Blade Runners. The goal of Ice B’Gone Magic applications is to provide the maximum melting results on your streets, while considering your budget. In-accurate forecasts (we all know about this!), varied property topography and shade conditions, and town by town changes in storm intensity make it difficult to make the call. We send out emails to our contacts to keep them informed as to our intention, and in general follow the Virginia Dept. of Transportation’s lead.
